The Boston Celtics and the Miami Heat are in for a fight in Game 7 Sunday night with a trip to the 2022 NBA Finals on the line. With that said, itโ€™s a good time to check out our NBA odds series, which includes our Celtics-Heat prediction, odds, and pick we have laid out below.

The Heat pulled out a gutsy 111-103 Game 6 win to force a do-or-die back in South Beach. Jimmy Butler put on a masterclass performance with 47 points, nine rebounds, eight assists, and four steals and came up huge down the stretch to keep Miami alive in the postseason. Kyle Lowry also finally looked like his old self. The veteran guard tallied 18 points and four three-pointers, including a huge one to tie the game as Boston made its run down the stretch.

Meanwhile, the Celtics missed a golden opportunity to book their ticket to the NBA Finals on their home floor. Jayson Tatumโ€™s 30-piece wasnโ€™t enough to propel Boston to San Francisco for Game 1 of the championship round this Thursday. Instead, theyโ€™ll be flying back to South Beach for this winner-take-all.

The NBA has revealed the referee assignments for the pivotal Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat at FTX Arena on Sunday night.

Heat vs. Celtics Game 7 preview

Just as Miami looked dead in the water, Butler and Kyle Lowry looked like the vintage versions of themselves in Game 6. Are they feeling better after looking like shells of themselves during the previous two games?

After sitting out the second half of Game 3, Butler didnโ€™t look as assertive when returning for games 4 and 5. When he wasnโ€™t able to lead the way on the offensive end, and with Tyler Herro out injured, Miamiโ€™s offensive was anemic. Anemic is being kind.

Everything pointed toward Boston closing out the series Friday in Boston. The Celtics were 8.5-point favorites, the biggest spread of any game in this series. Butler willed his team to a 111-103 victory with 47 points on 16-of-29 shooting with nine rebounds and eight assists. Lowry had arguably his best game of the playoffs with 18 points and 10 assists.

Butler totaled 7-for-32 from the field in games 4 and 5 while Lowry was 1-for-12. They went from liabilities to stars of the show.

The Heat will need more of that to win Game 7. Boston is favored, but nothing feels certain with the way this wacky series has played out.

The total has also plummeted to a comically low 195.5. In the series, the over is 4-2. Miamiโ€™s nonexistent offense in games 4 and 5 made sure the unders hit in those games. Game 7s are known for high intensity on the defensive end, but how much more can these teams do on defense? Thatโ€™s already the identity of both teams.

As Game 7 approaches, no one would be surprised if this ends up being a throwback, low-scoring physical finale. No matter who wins, this game has the chance to be career-defining for the likes of Butler, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Butler upped his game Friday in Boston and Tatum scored 30 points on just 12 shots. Which star will shine brighter with a spot in the NBA Finals on the line?

Scott Foster, James Capers and David Guthrie are the officials. James Williams is the alternate.

Forsberg: If it was easy, it wouldn't be the Celtics

Foster, nicknamed "The Extender", is the most well-known ref in this group and one of the most recognizable ones across the league. He has 28 years of experience.

The Celtics have a 16-19 all-time playoff record in games that Foster has been one of the officials, a 10-13 record with Capers and a 4-5 record with Guthrie.

NBA odds: Celtics are favorites on the road vs. Heat in Game 7

The C's won Game 4 against the Heat, as well as Game 4 against the Brooklyn Nets in the first round, when Foster was among the referees. Foster also was one of the officials when the Celtics defeated the Toronto Raptors in Game 7 of the second round inside the 2020 Florida bubble.

Capers was one of the referees when the Celtics beat the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 7 of the second round a few weeks ago.

Tipoff for Game 7 in Miami is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET. The winner advances to the 2022 NBA Finals and will play the Western Conference champion Golden State Warriors.

Game 6 of the series will be at TD Garden in Boston and the game will be aired on ESPN. Fans without cable looking to stream the game can watch it online via fuboTV or DirecTVStream. Both streaming services offer free trials. Fans looking to attend the games can purchase tickets now via StubHub, Vividseats and TicketNetwork.

Miami's playoff experience paid off on Friday night, as Boston was once again unable to book its trip to the NBA Finals. The Heat will have that same advantage on Sunday, as Butler and Lowry lead the team with valuable experience deep in the postseason.

The Heat have lost twice at home in this series, but they have still won 10 of their last 12 home games overall. They could be boosted by the return of shooting guard Tyler Herro, who remains questionable due to a groin injury. Regardless, Butler has proven himself to be the best player on either roster and he is set up for success in front of his fans. The six-time All-Star is averaging 21.8 points, 6.0 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game at FTX Arena this season.

Why the Celtics can cover

Forward Jayson Tatum has been reliable for the Celtics. Tatum knows how to consistently score with an abundance of moves. The three-time All-Star has fantastic footwork and creates space from defenders. Tatum attacks the glass and has sound court vision. The Duke product is averaging a team-high 27.1 points with 6.5 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game. In Game 6, Tatum finished with 30 points, nine rebounds, and four assists.

Center Robert Williams III is a defensive anchor in the paint. Williams III is very athletic and mobile for his size, with the ability to quickly recover. The Texas A&M product is a dominant shot-blocker, runs the floor well, and has solid leaping ability. He's also a threat for lobs and put-backs. Williams III is averaging 8.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks per game during the postseason.

How to make Heat vs. Celtics picks

SportsLine's model is leaning over on the point total, projecting the teams to combine for 206 points. The model also says one side of the spread hits well over 50 percent of the time. You can only see the model's NBA playoff picks at SportsLine.

Breen has commentated for the series along with his usual crew of Jeff Van Gundy and Mark Jackson. Unfortunately for NBA fans, they wonโ€™t be hearing the thrilling, iconic โ€œBang!โ€ call or the more incredulous โ€œWay off!โ€ call in the Heat-Celtics battle. According to Andrew Marchand of the New York Post, Breen has tested positive f0r COVID-19 and not be calling the game.
